The promenade Explanada de España running parallel to the port (pictured right), lined with palm trees and made out of 6.5 million marble tiles.
On Mount Benacantil stands the Santa Bárbara castle (pictured center top). The tower (La Torreta) at the top, is the oldest part of the castle, while part of the lowest zone and the walls were constructed later in the 18th century.
